There isn't much a dog enjoys more than taking a cat nap. Help your dog sleep comfortably by following a few tips before choosing a new dog bed:

Make sure that the bed is large enough for your dog's entire body with just a little extra room on each end. If your dog tends to curl up then you may want to consider a bed with raised bumpers. Make sure that the bed is easily machine washable. If your dog likes to scratch or claw, then it may be worth the extra investment to purchase a bed with a higher-end covering. For the older pet, look for heated beds or those made with medical grade foam. Smaller dogs often enjoy a pillow-type bed that allows them to burrow into the soft shape of the bed. Train your pup to sleep in his bed at an early age so that he stays off of your mattress.
