Local Nonprofits Can Drive Away in New Ford Van

The Ford Dealers of Western New York recently announced that applications are now available for the annual Ford Friendship Express program. Local nonprofits looking to drive away in a brand new Ford van must apply by March 1, 2011. Van recipients will be announced in the spring of 2011. 

Now in its 16th year, the program has already awarded 62 vans valued at more than $1 million… driving area nonprofits 1.2 million miles and counting. Organizations within the following counties are eligible to apply: Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, McKean and Potter counties.

In 2010, Homespace, Inc. and the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Northtowns took home new Ford vans. Other past recipients include Computers for Children, Kids Escaping Drugs, SABAH, Meals on Wheels of Buffalo and Erie County, Friends of the Night People, St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy, Camp Good Days & Special Times, Student Union at SUNY at Buffalo, Goodwill Industries of Western New York, Rural Transit Service, American Red Cross, The Buffalo Zoo and more.

Applications and guidelines are available at www.wnyford.com under the “local events” tab. All applications from organizations residing in Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, McKean and Potter counties must be returned and received by March 1, 2011 to be eligible for consideration.
