News

Orchard Park and Clarence play for the Section 6 Class AA title Friday night at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 9-pm.

In a high scoring game in week two the Red Devils outscored the Quakers 37 to 28. In that game Orchard Park brought only dark jersey's forcing Clarence, the home team, to wear yellow pinnies instead of their game jerseys.

Orchard Park has been to the stadium  more than any other team. They've played at Ralph Wilson Stadium 17 times in 32 years.

Quakers head coach Gene Tundo told Stu Boyar that "we've felt the sting of that loss to Clarence and now the boys have to get ready to play the game of their lives." Orchard Park will  have to find a way to slow down quarterback Zach Lauricella and the running back tandem of Michael Gelz and Cooper Wittig.

Clarence coach Tom Goddard told Stu that Orchard Park's wide reciever # 5 Ben Johnson is "a special player that we'll have to contain or we could be in for a long night." He added that his linebackers need to do a great job containing running back Okoya Anderson. He also praised quarterback Kyle Witkowski "who has a strong accurate arm."

Stu asked Clarence quarterback Zach Lauricella the key to success for the Red Devils this season. He said:"Its a total team effort. We got along on and off the field."

Orchard Park's Paul Leavell told Stu that its great to be back at the Stadium after missing out last season. Leavell told Stu "we have to do whatever it takes to get Lauricella, Gelz and that offense out of its game."

Orchard Park is 8-1, their only loss to the Red Devils at Clarence. Clarence brings a perfect 9-0 record into the game.
