BUFFALO, NY – Buffalo Prep announced recently that it has appointed six new members to its board of directors. Their appointments, effective immediately, will help promote the laudable mission of Buffalo Prep, an organization that focuses on identifying the many promising, yet economically disadvantaged, minority students throughout WNY.

Jodyann Galvin, partner at the distinguished law firm of Hodgson Russ. Galvin is also an adjunct professor at the University at Buffalo Law School, where she teaches a course on New York civil practice.

Hon. Craig Hannah, Buffalo city court judge, brings experience as a lawyer as well as a professor at Medaille College to the board. Judge Hannah was previously president of the Minority Bar Association of Western New York and the recipient of its Legal Service Award.

Jarrod Johnson, vice president of operations at the Erie County Medical Center. Johnson brings significant experience in the financial and medical sectors.

Oriana Montani brings extensive law experience as an associate at the prominent Buffalo firm, Phillips Lytle LLP. Montani is an active member of the Phillips Lytle Diversity Committee.

Alexandra Montante, an active community volunteer. Montante is an experienced educator – she has taught at Nardin Academy, St. Rose of Lima, Holy Spirit School and St. Mark School.

Dr. Andrew Scott, vice provost and dean of undergraduate education at the University at Buffalo, will offer invaluable counsel. His achievements include receiving the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.

“The impressive credentials and notable accomplishments of our six new board members is extraordinary,” said Buffalo Prep Executive Director Marcia O'Neil-White. “We are so pleased to welcome them and honored that they’ll contribute their considerable talents to the shared mission of preparing deserving students for success in their college careers.”

The nonprofit organization is currently accepting applications to its Middle School Prep and High School Prep programs. All interested students and their families are encouraged to attend an informational session to learn more about Buffalo Prep’s academic programs and the admissions and financial aid application processes.
