It’s quite an accomplishment when you can take a hobby and turn it into a career. It becomes a remarkable achievement when you can expand upon that career so that it will benefit countless others in your community and across the country.

But that’s exactly what 26-year-old Orchard Park resident Matt Schreiner has been able to accomplish, with amazing results. After graduating from Niagara Falls High School and Buffalo State College, where he majored in education, Schreiner decided to follow a different career path. This path focused on his artistic abilities and his love of sports and especially his hometown teams, the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills.

While Schreiner had taken some art classes in high school and college, he never dreamed that his paintings would one day hang in the homes of countless athletes and sports enthusiasts, from Olympic and NHL heroes such as Ryan Miller to NFL Hall of Famer Andre Reed.

Schreiner’s unique acrylic paintings on canvas are not just limited to athletes, nor are they exclusively for athletes. While he has no problem painting any player from any sport, he often fields requests to paint everything from children to superheroes.

So thankful is Schreiner for his artistic success that he regularly donates paintings to local charities to be used to support their fundraising efforts. “I donated five painting this past month and they helped raise approximately $10,000 at events throughout New York State,” Schreiner said. “Most if not all of the money raised will be used by these families to help pay their medical bills.”

Because of his business relationship with numerous professional athletes, Schreiner can frequently be found dropping off autographed memorabilia to fans in local hospitals. It’s all about giving back to the community that has helped him to not only open, but to grow his business and live a dream.

Schreiner’s painting business actually falls under the umbrella of his specialty clothing and events company called Going 4 Life. For more information about his company and any of his services, please visit his Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Going4Life or email mmschreiner87@gmail.com.
