Drums Along the Waterfront Tour of Champions is excited to bring the top eight drum corps in the world to Western New York. The event will be held from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, and all of the corps will be staying at local high schools as they prepare for the big event.

“Upon their arrival in Western New York the teams will very likely be spread out on gym floors trying to catch a few hours of sleep before getting up to rehearse all day,” said Drums Along the Waterfront Director Jack Gaylord Jr. “Corps are known to practice for up to 10 hours a day in preparation for a big show like the one in Buffalo.”

Following are the eight participating corps and where they will be staying in preparation for the event:

• Blue Devils of Concord, Calif. — Lackawanna High School

• Bluecoats of Canton, Ohio — Holland High School
• Carolina Crown of Ft. Mill, S.C. — Eden High School
• Blue Stars of La Crosse, Wis. — West Seneca West Senior High School

• Cavaliers of Rosemont, Ill. — Iroquois High School
• Santa Clara Vanguard of Santa Clara, Calif. — Riverside High School, Buffalo

• Phantom Regiment of Rockford, Ill. — Attica High School
• The Cadets of Allentown, Pa. — Orchard Park High School

Seven of the eight drum corps will spend just one day in Western New York before moving on to their next stop, while the Blue Devils will remain in the area until Aug. 4.

Drums Along the Waterfront is a competitive musical sport comprised of percussion, brass and a color guard of elite dancers. For more information about the Aug. 2 event, please visit http://drumsalongthewaterfront.org.
