Annual Yuletide in the Country Event Encourages Shoppers to Buy Local

Holiday shoppers can buy local and with meaning the first weekend in December when the 21st annual Yuletide in the Country Holiday Artisan Market returns to the Event Center at the Hamburg Fairgrounds. Cancelled last year due to the “Snowvember” storm, Yuletide in the Country will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6.

Yuletide will feature more than 175 artists and artisans and will highlight those from the Western New York area. New this year, the event welcomes craft wineries, distillers, coffee roasters and artisanal dairy farmers featuring gourmet cheeses.

“Adding these elements is a direct result of the public’s interest in these artisans, but also our plan to continue to create a unique holiday market,” said Dan Kaczynski of Premier Promotions of WNY, the event organizers.

Yuletide in the Country also features a formidable gift-buying experience, from spa-quality bath products to hand-poured aromatic candles, holiday décor to trendsetting jewelry, hand-blown glass sculpture to gourmet foods, elegant florals to pet gifts, and handcrafted furniture to original wall art. “This show really gives you one last opportunity to find gifts that are truly meaningful, and you have the opportunity to meet the person whose hands made the gifts you buy,” said Kaczynski.

In keeping with the tradition of all of Premier Promotions events, local charities will be on hand raising money for their worthy causes. Among them, Hamburg/Eden Animal Rescue (H.E.A.R.T.) will hold a raffle of handmade gifts donated by participating artisans.

Tickets are available at the door and are $5 per person with children under 12 free. For more than 31 years, Premier Promotions has produced high-quality, extremely successful artisan events including Springtime in the Country, Christmas in the Country, Christmas in the Country-Erie and Yuletide in the Country. The events are consistently ranked among the Top 100 artisan shows in America by Sunshine Artist magazine.

Last year, more than 90,000 visitors attended these events, purchasing more than $4 million in high-quality handcrafted goods from juried artists and artisans. These events have also helped raise more than $1.4 million for Western New York charities.
