John K. Hall: "Wanders Through the Town of Lockport"

The Niagara County  History Center is proud to recognize award-winning agriculturist and cherished fellow historian, John K Hall, through the printing of his latest book entitled, “Wandering through the Town of Lockport.”  This 100+ page book retells many of John’s “best” stories that he has collected about life in the Town.

John Hall is the living patriarch of the Hall Apple Farm and one could say that farming is in John’s blood. He graduated from Lockport High School (the old-school that is) and went on to attend Cornell University.  He was a charter member of the Lockport Volunteer Fire Company and served on the school board for ten years.  Add into the mix the Kiwanis Club, the Red Jacket Lodge Masons, Niagara County History Center, and a leader in every field of 4-H.

John shared many of his stories with the History Center when he served on the board of directors and was a frequent contributor to their newsletter and co-host of their monthly radio broadcast.   The Hall Family received the Century Farm Award from the NYS Agricultural Society, and three family members received the 4-H Distinguished Service Award.

To celebrate this new publication, John will entertain with a program of “remembrances” combined with a book signing at a free, public presentation at the History Center, 215 Niagara Street on Thursday, December 8 at 2 PM.  Books will be on sale in the museum store.
