Ben Garelick Jewelers Among Those Donating To Polar Bear Exhibit

To help expand the new Arctic Edge Polar Bear exhibit at the Buffalo Zoo, several local businesses are pitching in to ensure that cold weather animals, including newborn polar bear cub, Lola, have an expansive environment to grow in and call their own. The project is a 60,000 square foot exhibit featuring a frigid, snow-covered Arctic habitat that will be home to wildlife such as arctic wolves, bald eagles, Canadian lynx along with endangered polar bears.

Ben Garelick Jewelers is currently selling a special polar bear Pandora charm. The charm is priced at $40 and all profits are donated to the Buffalo Zoo so that the project is successfully funded and built.

Ben Garelick, a Buffalo jeweler for over 60 years located on Transit Road in Williamsville, is not the only local business committed to the new Arctic Edge exhibit at the Buffalo Zoo. Ice cream parlor, Sweet Jenny’s, located on Main Street, is currently featuring new, limited polar bear inspired flavors. Flavors such as the Polar Plunge, a white chocolate ice cream with Oreos, and Arctic Edge, mint ice cream with white chocolate covered Oreos, are also available at Sweet Jenny’s sister shop Oh Pour L’amour Du Chocolat and at local grocery stores: Dash’s, Lexington Cooperative Market and Premier Gourmet. Like Ben Garelick Jewelers, proceeds from the sale of this ice cream go directly to the Buffalo Zoo’s efforts to construct the new Arctic habitat exhibit.
