A Unique Seasonal Campaign Launched For Ben Garelick Jewelers

Buffalo, New York - January 14, 2014 - Consumers are bombarded with the same tired jewelry advertising every holiday season. 15 Fingers created a campaign for Buffalo’s Ben Garelick Jewelers that was different from the rest of the marketing materials that flooded mail boxes and TV commercial breaks.

15 Fingers conveyed that Ben Garelick understands how important a jewelry purchase is. It symbolizes some of life’s most memorable moments: Birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, etc.. This also means it’s one of the most anxious purchases one can make. The 2013 holiday campaign was built around the comfort and ease Ben Garelick Jewelers provides its customers during the most stressful time of year. The brand campaign included website redesigns, media buying, a unique print piece and commercial production.

An elegant, holiday background song was selected for the television commercial. This allowed for each bracelet, watch, ring, necklace and earring to take center stage, and essentially sell itself. As the commercial rolled, a new piece was presented with a unique offer from Ben Garelick Jewelers. Each offer (bigger savings on higher end purchases) helped ease the holiday stress, just like the Holiday Hints laid out in the print piece.

These holiday themes, images and copy were carried through all digital platforms as well. New homepage and Facebook banners were created to further reinforce the Holiday Hints campaign with the tagline, “Tidings of Joy” leading the way. A custom holiday landing page was designed and developed: bengarelick.com/holiday. This prompted users to drop a Holiday Hint via email. If they found a piece of jewelry they wanted for the holiday, a custom message was generated that the shopper could send to anyone they wanted or share across their social networks.

The holiday campaign was a thorough success as customers came into the store carrying the Hints from the mailer looking for the exact jewelry pieces featured. The response from the television media buy was overwhelmingly positive as the spots provided a fresh change from the typical jewelry advertising seen on TV during the holidays.
