How to Make Your Car Last Forever: Auto Q&A with Tom Torbjornsen

Dear Tom,

I own a 2001 Nissan Sentra, and there is a problem with the brake pedal. Occasionally, when I'm waiting at a traffic light, the brake pedal goes down about a half-inch or more, as if there is a loss of vacuum (doesn’t go all the way to the floor). Have you ever heard of this occurring?

How to Make Your Car Last Forever: Auto Q&A with Tom Torbjornsen

Dear Tom,

I recently drove through a huge puddle of water. The car made it through the puddle but shut down afterwards. I own a 2003 Mercedes c240 with low mileage. All the lights turn on and everything works when I put the key in the ignition, but the car won't start. Any thoughts?

How to Make Your Car Last Forever: Auto Q&A with Tom Torbjornsen

Dear Tom,

I own a 2006 Ford F150 pickup truck. A while ago you answered my question about the fuel gauge sticking. I'm now having the same problem. If I rock the truck and put it back into park, then the gauge works. If I am correct, you said this was a result of too much sulfur in the gas and there is an additive that can used to resolve the problem. I can't remember what additive to use. Can you help me out?
