Niagara County IDA Approves Applications for Assistance from Covanta Niagara and and 210 Walnut St.

Combined projects total almost $50 million in investment and 123 new jobs for Niagara Falls and Lockport

The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency (NCIDA) board of directors today approved applications for assistance that the agency received at its December 2012 board meeting from Covanta Niagara L.P. and 210 Walnut Street for two major economic development projects in the cities of Niagara Falls and Lockport respectively.  Both projects combined will result in approximately $50 million of investments in Niagara County, while creating 123 new jobs and hundreds of temporary construction jobs.

IMG_INK Print Galleries offers prints from renowned artists

BUFFALO, N.Y. – A new website is celebrating Buffalo’s rich artistic and architectural history by featuring the art and artists that have helped define the area’s legacy.

IMG_INK, a Buffalo printing facility that specializes in working with artists, has launched IMG_INK Print Galleries, an online venue that allows visitors to browse and purchase the work of a collection of notable local artists. The site, http://shop.imgink.com, offers museum quality prints of photographs and artwork that are all connected to Western New York through either the subject or the artist.

IMG_INK owners Biff Henrich and Kevin Whipple created IMG_INK Print Galleries as a response to artists who were looking for a more direct way to connect their work with the public.

Erie County, NY County Clerk Chris Jacobs is pleased to announce a new partner in his “Thank-A-Vet” Discount Program but “this goes well beyond a mere discount,” said Jacobs.
 

Metro Roberts Realty Owner Jim Roberts upon hearing of the Clerk’s “Thank A Vet” program proposed this idea to Chris Jacobs, to offer Veterans an opportunity to become a licensed real estate agent and get into real estate as a career.  Under this initiative Metro Roberts Realty will fund 100% of the start-up costs for a Veteran to become a licensed real estate agent in New York State.

The nonprofit Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo is inviting Western New York employers and organizations to make a New Year “healthy choices resolution” by participating in the annual Eat Well Live Well Challenge. This results-focused  wellness Challenge, provided by Wegmans Markets, empowers participants by increasing physical activity and making better nutrition choices. Together these actions enable individuals to improve their health and lower their risk for unnecessary medical costs from chronic illnesses.

The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency (NCIDA) today received applications for assistance from Covanta Niagara L.P. and 210 Walnut Street for two major economic development projects in the cities of Niagara Falls and Lockport respectively. Steve Giordano Named Executive in Charge

LPCiminelli, one of Upstate New York’s largest construction firms, announced today it has established an office in Manhattan to serve the New York City metropolitan area.  The company, which is headquartered in Buffalo, has hired construction executive Steve Giordano to run the new office.
