Winterfest Coming to Clarence Town Park

Winterfest Coming to Clarence Town Park

CLARENCE, NY -- When the Town of Clarence Youth Bureau and the Clarence Chamber hold their annual WINTERFEST celebration at Clarence Town Park on January 30th, they’ll be counting on the Clarence Lions Club, which will “warm-up” the crowd.

That’s just what they’ll do, says Lion Timothy Pazda, who is helping to organize the event’s annual Chili-Chowder Cook-off in the park’s large pavilion.

Nearly twenty not-for-profits will be entering their favorite recipes, to compete in two separate categories…the “Best Chili”, as well as a separate “Best Chowder” division.  The winners take home a “Peoples Choice Award”.

Typically, the Chili-Chowder Cook-off attracts competitors from local fire companies, scouting groups, nursing homes, churches, and others.  Last year’s contest also drew some 300 tasters, who donated a nominal fee of $5.00 to try all the entries.  Each received water and a dinner roll to cleanse their palettes between samples.
