Jury Awards Clarence Landowner $1.9 Million in Suit Against Developer

CLARENCE, NY - A Clarence landowner was awarded nearly $2 million in a lawsuit against the developer of a subdivision and the Town of Clarence on Friday.

The jury found that the defendant in the case "knowingly and intentionally disregarded plaintiff's property rights in a manner that was either 'wanton, willful or reckless'" by flooding his property with runoff from a newly constructed subdivision.

Legislator Rath Reminds Residents of National Prescription Drug Drop-Off Day

Fourteen sites across Erie County will be collecting pharmaceuticals during National Prescription Drug Drop Off Day, Legislator Edward A. Rath, III announced. Residents are encouraged to drop off their prescriptions and over-the-counter medications to ensure they are properly disposed of.

“I encourage all residents to check around their homes for outdated and unwanted prescriptions and drop them off at one of the several sites set up across Erie County,” Legislator Rath said. “By removing these items from the home, residents are eliminating a potentially dangerous situation.”

No questions will be asked concerning items that are dropped off. For information about the program, please visit www.NationalPrescriptionDrugDropOff.com.
