Farmers & Artisans Offering Traditional Irish Fare for St. Patrick’s Day

Farmers & Artisans Offering Traditional Irish Fare for St. Patrick’s Day

One of Western New York’s favorite holidays — St. Patrick’s Day — is right around the corner, and Farmers & Artisans local food market and bakery is ready to help you celebrate!

For starters, Farmers & Artisans is now taking orders for fresh corned beef. The beef is raised locally at Librock Farms in Gasport, contains no hormones or antibiotics, and is brined using the secret recipe of Avenue Boys Smokehouse in Pendleton.  The corned beef sold out early last year so be sure to place your order soon.

The Resource Training Center Urges Celebrants to Drive Sober on St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick's Day brings to mind shamrocks, leprechauns, pots of gold and good luck. But no amount of luck can save you from a drunk-driving crash. Unfortunately, March 17 has become a deadly day in the United States with a dramatic spike in drunk-driving fatalities, according to Monica Farrar, program director of The Resource Training Center in Amherst.

Despite School Closing, Pre-K Program Continues to Thrive at Annunciation

Despite School Closing, Pre-K Program Continues to Thrive at Annunciation

When the Diocese of Buffalo announced its decision in January 2014 to close Annunciation School in Elma at the conclusion of the 2013-14 school year but allow pre-kindergarten to continue, few believed the Pre-K program could continue to thrive. After all, most of the families enrolled in the program enjoyed the seamless transition from Pre-K to kindergarten and beyond under one roof.

But with a new name, new instructors and a new outlook, the Pre-K program for 3 and 4/5 year olds continues to thrive and grow. In fact, Pre-K4/5 will expand next year into a five-day program, and before- and after-school hours will also be added, according to Annunciation’s pastor, Father Eugene Ulrich.
