The Niagara Frontier Automobile Dealers Association and Erie Community College are hosting the 2014 NFADA Ron Smith Memorial AutoTech Competition on Saturday, Jan. 18. The competition features teams of two high school automotive seniors who will go through a series of diagnostic, workstation and performance tests to measure their automotive technical skills and abilities. The WNY Ford Dealers are the vehicle sponsors and will be providing six 2014 Ford Fusions for the students to compete on.

The competition, to be held at the Erie Community College-Vehicle Technology Training Center at 5885 Big Tree Road in Orchard Park, is open to the public beginning at 9 a.m.  It concludes with an awards ceremony at approximately 3 p.m.

The six teams that are competing this year represent career and technical high schools from the Western New York area. First place finishers will represent their school and the Niagara Frontier Automobile Dealers Association at the National Automotive Technology Competition in April during the New York International Auto Show.

The Niagara Frontier Automobile Dealers Association is a trade association with new vehicle dealership members from Western and Central New York. It provides products and services to members including insurance products, safety and health programs, and compliance programs to help members save time and money.
