CLARENCE SUPERVISOR DAVID HARTZELL HOSTS ERIE COUNTY CLERK CHRIS JACOBS FOR “SOUP WITH THE SUP"

Erie County, NY-Clarence Supervisor David C Hartzell, Jr. is proud to announce that his next guest for “Soup with the Sup” will be Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs.

“Soup with the Sup” is a special program where the Supervisor of the Town of Clarence invites special guests that are of interest to Town of Clarence taxpayers to meet with residents over soup to discuss current issues of interest. Soup will served on March 10th at 5 PM at Clarence Town Hall, Goodrich Rd. in Clarence.

Clerk Jacobs will discuss the many new initiatives he has implemented since taking office in 2012, and will also highlight three key programs:

- The “Renew Local” Program where the Clerk encourages all residents of Erie County to renew their vehicle registration and driver’s license at their local Auto Bureau, helping to retain up to $1.5 million here in Erie County….not sending it to Albany.

- The “Thank-A-Vet” Discount Card Program. Honorably discharged veterans who place their DD-214 on file in the Clerk’s Office are issued a photo ID that can be used at over 600 participating businesses in Erie County who have agreed to honor the veterans by providing a discount.

- The “Opt Out” Program for pistol permit holders, where they can fill out a one page form and all of the information on their pistol permit is kept confidential.

There is no cost to participate (the Supervisor picks up all of the costs) but interested residents of Clarence will need to call the Supervisors Office at 741-8930 to reserve a spot at least 48 hours in advance because space is limited.
