Buffalo Bites Food Tours Announces Third Season Expansion

Buffalo Bites Food Tours, Western New York’s first and only food-tasting and historical walking tour, is back for a third season of fun, food and entertainment. And in celebration of National Travel and Tourism Week, Buffalo Bites is announcing an exciting expansion!

Beginning June 1, Buffalo Bites will add a second tour in East Aurora. Culinary stops along the tour of the historic village will include Taste, Firefly Cupcakes, Elm Street Bakery, The Roycroft Inn, Purr-fect Tea & Gift Emporium and Riley Street Station. Historic sites highlighted on the tour will include The Roycroft Campus, Vidler’s 5 & 10 and Millard Fillmore House.

“We are very pleased to announce the expansion of our unique three-hour tours into one of Western New York’s most historic villages,” said tour founder Laura Reed of Orchard Park. “As for our popular Buffalo tour, we have already been joined by guests from Ohio, Connecticut, North Carolina, Texas, Florida, Toronto, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Spain this season. We are also seeing several area companies utilizing our tours as a team-building activity for their employees.”

The tour of Buffalo’s Elmwood Village includes stops at Cole’s Restaurant, D’Avolio, Blue Monk, Watson’s Chocolates and Globe Market. Added to the 2014 tour is the Lexington Co-operative Market. “Lexington Co-op is the epitome of all things local and we are so pleased to add them to our tour,” said Reed.

Significant pieces of architecture and places of interest on the Buffalo tour include the former Albright Estate, Bidwell Parkway, Lincoln Parkway and a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home.

“The greatest compliment we receive on our tours is people thanking us for showing them a Buffalo they never knew, and that includes both local and out-of-town guests,” added Reed. “People take our tour and it opens their eyes to a beautiful, historical Buffalo with some great food, and it leaves them with an extremely positive view of our city!”

Buffalo Bites Food Tours is currently one of the top-rated local activities on TripAdvisor and is based on similar culinary adventure tours offered in cities such as Chicago and New York. Before bringing her business to Buffalo, Reed trained in Chicago with Food Tour Pros, a company that has helped entrepreneurs start food tours around the globe.
