If you have an interest in classic cars, ride a motorcycle or serve as a first responder, then the annual summer picnic at the Church of the Annunciation in Elma is the place to be the weekend of Aug. 14-16.

Annunciation’s annual Classic Car Cruise Night takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14. Stop by for a fish fry, check out all the classic vehicles on display and enjoy music by the Boys of Summer from 7 to 11 p.m.

Motorcycle enthusiasts are encouraged to stop by on Saturday, Aug. 15, for a blessing of bikes and riders by Annunciation’s pastor, Father Gene Ulrich, following the 5 p.m. Mass in Annunciation Church. The blessing will take place at approximately 6 p.m. in front of the church.

Following an 11:30 a.m. Polish Polka Mass on Sunday, Aug. 16, Father Ulrich will bless emergency personnel and vehicles from the Elma and Marilla fire departments. This blessing will also take place in front of the church.

“These dedicated volunteers are always ready to serve our community in times of need, and this is a small expression of our appreciation to them for their dedicated service,” said Father Ulrich. “We hope this blessing will help keep our first responders safe every time they receive a call for assistance.”

The Church of the Annunciation is located at 7580 Clinton St., Elma. For additional information, please visit www.annunciation.cc or call the parish office at 683-5254.
