Annunciation Students Celebrate Halloween

Students, teachers, faculty and parents enjoyed a Halloween celebration at Annunciation School in Elma today. Events included a parade throughout the building and related classroom activities.

Fourteen Pet Connection Puppies Go Up for Adoption Today

Fourteen beautiful puppies — 8 Beagle/Spaniel mixes and 6 Puggle mixes — are going up for adoption tonight (Oct. 29) at Pet Connection Programs Inc., 12935 Williston Road, Marilla. Adoption hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 2 p.m. Sunday. Pet Connection Plans November Community Events

November is shaping up to be a very busy month for the volunteers of Pet Connection Programs Inc., a maternity and special care animal shelter located in Marilla.

On Friday, November 5, volunteers and puppies will visit one of Buffalo’s most historically significant buildings — the Larkin at Exchange Building — from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Volunteers and their furry friends will also be at the Walden Galleria in Cheektowaga from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on two Saturdays, November 6 and 13. Also on November 6, volunteers will be at the flea market at the Harvey D. Morin Post on Center Road in West Seneca from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Western New Yorkers Invited to Give the Gift of Warmth during PJ Round-Up

Girl Scouts across Western New York are collecting new, warm clothing items to give the gift of warmth to those in need this season.  The Girl Scouts of Western New York and The Summit Federal Credit Union and teaming up onceagain to present the PJ Round-Up.  This community service initiative for Girl Scout troops in Buffalo, Batavia, Lockport and Niagara Falls provides new warm pajamas, slippers and robes for women and children living in area shelters. 

Donations will be collected through November 30 at Western New York Summit branches, Girl Scout Service Centers in Depew, Lockport, Niagara Falls and Batavia, Eastern Hills Mall and the East Amherst Enterprise location.

Annunciation School to Host Ice Cream Social & Book Fair

Annunciation School, 7580 Clinton St., Elma, will host an Ice Cream Social & All American Book Fair from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, in the school. The event is open to students and families. Members of the community who are interested in learning more about the school and parish are also encouraged to attend.

Books will be available for sale, as well as delicious ice cream sundaes for only $1. There will also be a pumpkin decorating contest, and children are invited to wear their Halloween costumes. Pumpkins entered in the contest should be decorated at home. If you would like to light up your pumpkin, please use a non-flammable light source.
