Mass Celebrates Msgr. Kevin O’Neill’s Dedication to Catholic Education

A Mass of celebration in honor of Msgr. Kevin O’Neill was held in Queen of Martyrs Church in Cheektowaga on May 28. After nine years of service, Msgr. O’Neill is retiring from his role of canonical administrator at Mary Queen of Angels Regional Catholic School at the end of the current school year.

Msgr. O’Neill, who was ordained in 1961, has dedicated much of his life to Catholic education. In January of this year, he received the Diocese of Buffalo’s Outstanding Achievement Award at the Celebration of Catholic Education gala held at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

“It has been a privilege for all of us at Mary Queen of Angels School to work with someone so dedicated to Catholic education,” said Principal MaryAlice Bagwell. “Frankly, I don’t know where we would be right now without Msgr. Kevin’s support and guidance. Moving forward, we will especially miss his celebration of our special Masses, his leadership in our community fundraising efforts, his participation at our school board meetings and his spiritual guidance.”

Mary Queen of Angels School is located at 170 Rosewood Terrace in Cheektowaga.
