Teenager causes crash after fleeing from police | News
CLARENCE, N.Y. -- A 17-year-old caused a car crash on Sunday morning in the Town of Clarence after fleeing from Sheriff’s Deputies.
Police say they attempted to pull over a car after they observed suspicious behavior in the Eastern Hills Mall Parking lot. When the deputy turned on the emergency lights, and started the traffic stop, the vehicle fled out of the parking lot and down Sheridan Drive.
During the pursuit of the vehicle, the suspect failed to stop for an emergency vehicle and disobeyed multiple traffic control signs and markings.
While attempting to flee, the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran into a tree on Lapp Road.
The teenager was taken to ECMC with minor injuries and is now facing charges of seven separate misdemeanors and 16 vehicle and traffic violations.
