Teen Leads Man to Troopers
News

Clarence, NY - What should have been a day to run a few errands turned scary for one Western New York teenager Thursday afternoon. State Police tell us a man followed her for several miles, but it was what the teen did that led to this man's arrest.

The teen who's identity is being withheld is being credited by Troopers at the Clarence Station for not only being alert to what was going on, but providing them with all the important information that led to a quick arrest.

The young woman told Troopers that she was driving north on Transit Road near Wehrle Drive when she noticed a man in a black dodge charger following her. She explained that she made several unnecessary turns including driving 6-miles through both Lancaster and Clarence as the man continued to follow her.

Channel 2 News was told by police the frightened teen even pulled into a parking lot of one business and went inside, and claims he pulled in as well but waited in his car. The teen called her mother who told her to drive straight to the Trooper's Barracks on Main Street. Shortly there after police say they arrested 52-year-old Michael Domagala. He charged him with aggravated driving while intoxicated. Trooper Victor Morales praised the young woman for her actions.

"You know it was very astute of her to make sure she is aware of her surroundings. Again the description of the vehicle was very key, and the description of the individual. Anything that you can do to help us find somebody that's trying to harm you or come after you makes it a lot easier on us, also if you can identify the person makes it easier in court as well," said Morales.

Police say Domagala was across the street from the Barracks when Troopers went searching him. He tried to leave but was stopped just down the road. He was released a few hours later and is due to appear at the Town of Clarence Court on August 11th. Troopers say this case is still under investigation.
