"Singing Spaghetti Supper" to be Held on Sunday, October 9th

The Friends of Harmony male barbershop chorus is proud to announce its 7th annual Singing Spaghetti Supper on Sunday, October 9th.  The price of $10.00 ($5.00 for children 12 and under) includes all the spaghetti you can eat, meatballs, rolls, salad, dessert and beverage.    Beer and wine is also available for a modest price.  Continuous musical entertainment is provided by the chorus along with prizes and gift basket raffles.   Authentic barbershop quartets will perform for you right at your table.  The dinner runs from 4pm to 8pm at the Clarence Town Park Clubhouse in Clarence, NY.  For questions, call Dan at 741-3926 or just stop by.

Andrew Gramza Memorial Drive to be Held Saturday

Calling all blood donors to the Andrew Gramza Memorial Drive! Alden resident, Andrew Gramza, 21, passed away last November. He required a lot of blood while in the hospital, and when he passed away, his family donated his heart valves to UNYTS (Upstate New York Transplant Services). What better way to honor him than with a blood drive/basket raffle with all proceeds benefiting UNYTS?

Take part in this Memorial Drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 18 at Alden High School, 13190 Park St. To schedule an appointment  to donate blood, please call UNYTS at 716-512-7940. Walk ins are also welcome.  A basket raffle will be held with all the proceeds going directly to UNYTS.  A variety of baskets, with some valued at over $100, will be available.

NCIDA Accepts First Application from Opportunity Zone Program

Project will create more than 20 jobs with an economic impact of approximately $4.5 million annually; Board also accepts application for construction of new facility in Pendleton

 SANBORN, NEW YORK – The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency (NCIDA) Board of Directors today accepted an application of assistance from the Greater Lockport Development Corporation (GLDC) for renovations to 57 Canal Street in the historic locks district in downtown Lockport.  The building is owned by the city of Lockport and leased to the GLDC.  The GLDC application for a five-year PILOT is the first ever application through the Niagara County Opportunity Zone Program, which provides financial incentives in the form of tax abatements to commercial, retail and tourism based businesses to encourage reinvestment to rebuild urban centers in Niagara County.
