Student Orchestra’s Fundraising Plans Pan Out

Student Orchestra’s Fundraising Plans Pan Out

Lancaster schools’ Carnival Kids Steel Orchestra has found success in drumming up support for an area organization that helps youth battle substance abuse.

The group that plays steel drums – also known as pans – has announced that it will be sending a check for $1,700 to Kids Escaping Drugs thanks to its recent "Jam the Pan" campaign and other fundraising efforts.

The orchestra announced the campaign during its annual Island Night fundraiser last year and placed drums out to collect money during its summer concerts.

Orchestra Director Ken Kowalski thanked those who made the endeavor possible.

“Congratulations to all for the effort put forth, the commitment and dedication and your kind hearts, which will help so many in Western New York fighting addiction problems,” he said.
