Akron student designs plus size clothes with a city-slick twist

CHEEKTOWAGA, NEW YORK (March 2, 2016) – The fashion industry has opened doors for Akron student Quiana Spring, an aspiring clothes designer.

Quiana will be exhibiting her designs along 10 other students representing a total of eight local school districts at the “Limitless” fashion show. Students of the Erie 1 BOCES Fashion Design and Merchandising program will be modeling their creations on March 10 at Walden Galleria.

New trends in the fashion industry have left plus size individuals out of luck when looking for the latest styles, according to Quiana.

“I wanted to make the clothes that I see and often aren’t offered in plus size … if they are, they aren’t the most flattering,” Quiana said.
